ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Through this course, explore the uniquely diverse cuisines of Los Angeles, one of the most multicultural (and most delicious) cities in the world.
Mexican cuisine—Bricia Lopez, dubbed the “Oaxacan Princess” by Jonathan Gold, is partner at Guelaguetza, a local Oaxacan restaurant, and a founding member of the Taste of Mexico Association.
Tunisian/French/Jewish cuisine—Alain Cohen is owner of Got Kosher? café and caterers, and creator of the original pretzel challah.
Persian cuisine—Instructor TBA.
Chinese cuisine—Clarissa Wei is editorial director of Forage & Pasture online magazine, a KCET food columnist, and founder of Curated Gnomes, a local food tour company.

Instructor: Lara Rabinovitch, PhD, is the food editor for GOOD magazine and the co-editor of Choosing Yiddish: New Frontiers of Language and Culture. She is currently acting as consulting producer on a documentary about Jonathan Gold and is working on a book about pastrami and “Little Rumania” in early twentieth-century New York City.
