With the international community focused on Iran’s quest
to develop nuclear weapons, little attention has been paid
to Tehran’s preparations for a possible showdown with
America and its allies. For more than a year, Iran has been
preparing, together with terror organizations it controls
and finances, for a confrontation code-named \u00ab\u00a0Al-
Qiyamah,\u00a0\u00bb which is Arabic for \u00ab\u00a0Judgment Day.\u00a0\u00bb Hezbollah’s
unprovoked war against Israel may well be the first step in
this Iranian-inspired conflict. <\/p>\n

Leading this war effort is Brigadier General, Qassam
Sulaymani, who heads the Al-Quds \u00ab\u00a0Jerusalem\u00a0\u00bb Force of
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards. Based in Tehran, the
Al-Quds Force is considered responsible for having trained
thousands of operatives from Hezbollah, Hamas, and
Islamic Jihad. Now Sulaymani has been tasked with
coordinating and providing logistical support to the terror
organizations that will execute Iran’s plans for a
confrontation.The plan reportedly includes suicide bombing
attacks on America and British targets in the Middle East as
well as on Arab and Muslim countries allied with the West. <\/p>\n

Participants in Iran’s \u00ab\u00a0Judgment Day\u00a0\u00bb plans include
Hezbollah in Lebanon, Hezbollah cells in Europe, North
America, the Persian Gulf region, Palestinian Islamic Jihad,
the leaders of Iraq’s insurgency, and the Mahdi Army of
Iraq’s Muqtada Al-Sadr. Iran’s Revolutionary Guards also
have reportedly invited operatives from the Mahdi Army to
be trained in Iran and have increased its funding to Al-Sadr
to over $20 million. <\/p>\n

Although Hezbollah is identified as a Lebanese terrorist
organization, it was originally created in Iran following the
1979 Islamic Revolution. Representatives of Iran’s
Revolutionary Guards were sent to create Hezbollah cells in
Lebanon and other countries with large Shi’a populations,
including Western countries. <\/p>\n

Mojtaba Bigdeli, a spokesman for Hezbollah in Iran,
recently threatened to carry out attacks globally. \u00ab\u00a0We have
2,000 volunteers who have registered since last year. They
have been trained and they can become fully armed. We are
ready to dispatch them to every corner of the world to
jeopardize Israel and America’s interests,\u00a0\u00bb said Bigdeli. \u00ab\u00a0We
are only waiting for the Supreme Leader’s green light to
take action. If America wants to ignite World War Three \u00c9
we welcome it.\u00a0\u00bb <\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Iran has accelerated its supply of arms to
Hezbollah during the past few months, sending rockets,
missiles, explosives, and guided missiles to the terror
group’s bases in Lebanon. Hezbollah’s arsenal of artillery
today ranges from the relatively small Katyusha rockets
which carry an 18-pound warhead packed with high
explosives, Arash rockets which carry 40 pounds of
explosives, to the Fajr 3 \u00ab\u00a0Dawn\u00a0\u00bb missile which carries 100
pounds of explosives, the Fajr 5 missile, which carries 200
pounds of explosives, and the Zilzal 2 \u00ab\u00a0Earthquake\u00a0\u00bb missile,
with a warhead of more than 1300 pounds. Hezbollah also
has been equipped with four types of surface-to-surface
missiles. <\/p>\n

More than 3,000 Hezbollah operatives went to Iran to be
trained in military tactics, including guerrilla warfare, firing
missiles, and artillery, the operation of unmanned aerial
drones, conventional warfare, and marine warfare. Iran’s
outfitting of Hezbollah with military grade weapons over
the past six years has transformed it into a militarized
terror organization with offensive capabilities resembling
that of a state. In tandem with its continued efforts to push
for the legitimacy of its nuclear weapons program on the
diplomatic front, Iran has been open about its support for
Hezbollah. In a recent interview with the Arabic daily Al-
Sharq Al-Awsat, an Iranian official stated: \u00ab\u00a0Hezbollah is part
of us and does not need guarantees to be certain the
Islamic Republic is with it. We are standing with the Party,
in spirit and physically, militarily and financially.\u00a0\u00bb <\/p>\n

Iran has bluntly expressed its intentions toward America
and Israel. In a military parade held in September 2005,
during \u00ab\u00a0Sacred Defense Week,\u00a0\u00bb Iran flaunted the latest
versions of ballistic missiles produced by its military
including the Zilzal 1 and 2. The namesake of this missile is
a verse in the Qur’an that tells of the final earthquake that
precipitates Judgment Day. The missiles were emblazoned
with the slogans: \u00ab\u00a0We will trample America under our feet,\u00a0\u00bb
\u00ab\u00a0Israel should be wiped off the map,\u00a0\u00bb \u00ab\u00a0Death to America,\u00a0\u00bb
and \u00ab\u00a0Death to Israel.\u00a0\u00bb <\/p>\n

Based on Iran’s public statements and Hezbollah’s opening
salvo of rockets and missiles over Israel’s northern border,
this appears to be only the beginning of Iran’s \u00ab\u00a0Judgment
Day\u00a0\u00bb plans. We would be wise to take them at their word. <\/p>\n

‘UN post not deliberately targeted’

Retired Canadian Maj.-Gen. Lewis MacKenzie told Canada’s CBC radio last week that the Canadian officer Maj. Paeta Hess-von Kruedener, killed by IDF fire at a UN post in Lebanon last Tuesday, had complained in e-mails that Hizbullah fighters were all over his position. \u00ab\u00a0They use the UN as shields knowing that they can’t be punished for it,\u00a0\u00bb
said MacKenzie <\/p>\n

UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan slammed Israel for the attack, which killed three other UNTSO observers, claiming that it had been intentional. Israel apologized asserting that UN post had been targeted accidentally. <\/p>\n

Hess-von Kruedener observed, in e-mails to MacKenzie, his former commander in the Canadian army: \u00ab\u00a0We have on a daily basis had numerous occasions where our position has come under direct or indirect fire from both artillery and aerial bombing. The closest artillery has landed within two metres of our position and the closest 1,000 [pound] aerial bomb has landed 100 metres from our patrol base. <\/p>\n

\u00ab\u00a0This has not been deliberate targeting,\u00a0\u00bb Kruedener said, \u00ab\u00a0but has rather been due to tactical necessity.\u00a0\u00bb <\/p>\n

That last line has been read to imply that Hizbullah fighters used the UN posts as cover from which to launch their rocket attacks and Israel had tried to target them. <\/p>\n

Mackenzie noted that the IAF’s strikes have resulted in an extremely low number of casualties given the amount of ammunition fired. <\/p>\n

\u00ab\u00a0Please don’t think I’m being cavalier about life here, I’m not, by any stretch of the imagination, but with the amount of firepower that’s gone into Lebanon over the last couple of weeks, the death toll is unbelievably low in accordance with the delivery of that firepower, which means that targets are being selected pretty darn closely,\u00a0\u00bb said Mackenzie in his radio interview. <\/p>\n

\u00ab\u00a0Beirut is not being flattened, Beirut’s not being bombarded, I heard one CNN reporter say this area is being bombarded, we’ve had six bombs in 20 minutes. Bombardment is six bombs a second, I mean that’s what bombardment is, it’s using all the resources you have.\u00a0\u00bb <\/p>\n

When asked about the future of the war and the region, Mackenzie told Canadian radio: \u00ab\u00a0Heaven forbid that the UN would go in, I have no problem at all with a UN resolution. <\/p>\n

\u00ab\u00a0It has to be an international force, a robust force, and that means mechanized troops, at least 25,000 going in under competent leadership. It could be Turkey, it could be a number of other possible leadership contenders, NATO for example. But, it has to be non-UN with a UN resolution authorizing it, and that’s going to take a month plus,\u00a0\u00bb said the retired general. <\/p>\n

Gibson aurait notamment affirm\u00e9 que \u00ab\u00a0les Juifs sont responsables de toutes les guerres dans le monde\u00a0\u00bb. La police a ni\u00e9 avoir fait passer ce rapport \u00e0 la presse. <\/p>\n

\u00ab\u00a0J’ai lutt\u00e9 pendant toute ma vie d’adulte contre l’alcoolisme et je regrette profond\u00e9ment ma rechute\u00a0\u00bb, s’est encore excus\u00e9 l’acteur am\u00e9ricain. <\/p>\n

Gibson avait \u00e9t\u00e9 rel\u00e2ch\u00e9 en d\u00e9but de matin\u00e9e apr\u00e8s avoir vers\u00e9 une caution de 5.000 dollars. L’affaire a \u00e9t\u00e9 transmise pour \u00e9valuation au procureur du comt\u00e9 de Los Angeles, qui peut d\u00e9cider ou pas d’entamer des poursuites. <\/p>\n
