Antis\u00e9mitisme Juif ? Cela para\u00eet comme une contradiction en soi, un oxymoron ou une blague \u00e0 la Jackie Mason (1). Si seulement c’\u00e9tait cela\u2026<\/p>\n

L’antis\u00e9mitisme juif nous entoure et il fait partie de l’air politique que nous respirons, une \u00e9pid\u00e9mie que nous subissons au 21\u00e8me<\/sup> si\u00e8cle et qui se r\u00e9pand comme la peste.<\/p>\n

Parmi les extr\u00e9mistes doctrinaires les plus malveillants et les plus venimeux, les Juifs antis\u00e9mites sont \u00e0 l’avant-garde de toute campagne calomnieuse contre Isra\u00ebl et de toute tentative pour intimider les Juifs d’Am\u00e9rique et l’Occident, et les culpabiliser pour qu’ils soutiennent ceux qui au Moyen Orient ne cherchent qu’\u00e0 les exterminer.<\/p>\n

Les Juifs aujourd’hui sont \u00e0 la t\u00eate des campagnes de boycott et de d\u00e9sinvestissement en Isra\u00ebl, ainsi que des groupes de \u00ab\u00a0solidarit\u00e9 avec les terroristes\u00a0\u00bb. Ils font des p\u00e8lerinages dans les camps du Hamas et du H’ezbollah, acclamant les terroristes et leurs atrocit\u00e9s. Ils ont initi\u00e9 les campagnes diffamatoires d\u00e9crivant Isra\u00ebl comme un pays de l’apartheid et le stigmatisant comme l’\u00e9quivalent moral de l’Allemagne nazie <\/p>\n

Les campus occidentaux croulent sous le nombre de Juifs antis\u00e9mites et certains, m\u00eame, dirigent des maisons Hillel (2). D’autres sont des enseignants en poste. Un juge antis\u00e9mite (Richard Goldstone) a dirig\u00e9 une Commission de l’Onu qui a fait passer Isra\u00ebl pour un pays d\u00e9moniaque. Un d\u00e9put\u00e9 juif du Parlement anglais, Gerald Kaufman, a compar\u00e9 les terroristes du Hamas aux combattants du ghetto de Varsovie et a d\u00e9nonc\u00e9 Isra\u00ebl comme une entit\u00e9 nazie. Et ceci n’est pas seulement une sp\u00e9cificit\u00e9 am\u00e9ricaine; vous trouvez un nombre important et choquant de Juifs antis\u00e9mites parmi les Isra\u00e9liens et les ex-Isra\u00e9liens<\/p>\n

Beaucoup de Juifs ne pensent pas que ces gens aient \u00ab\u00a0la haine de soi\u00a0\u00bb, car ces mots sont trompeurs et, en effet, ces gens-l\u00e0 ne se ha\u00efssent pas, mais sont narcissiques jusqu’aux entrailles. En fait, ils ha\u00efssent \u00ab\u00a0les autres Juifs\u00a0\u00bb et leur souhaitent du mal. Et ce n’est pas que ces Juifs antis\u00e9mites cherchent simplement \u00e0 s’assimiler au milieu ambiant, ou ne s’int\u00e9ressent pas \u00e0 leur h\u00e9ritage juif ou sont indiff\u00e9rents \u00e0 l’histoire de leur peuple et, par cons\u00e9quent s’excluent du destin d’Isra\u00ebl. Bien au contraire, les Juifs antis\u00e9mites sont intens\u00e9ment concern\u00e9s par leurs racines et ils en font un usage habile. Leur jud\u00e9it\u00e9 leur sert d’alibi pour d\u00e9velopper leurs th\u00e8ses traitresses. Dans des cas limites, ils coop\u00e8rent m\u00eame avec des n\u00e9o-nazis, des terroristes islamistes et des n\u00e9gationnistes.<\/p>\n

L’antis\u00e9mitisme juif \u00e9tait autrefois consid\u00e9r\u00e9 comme une excentricit\u00e9. On en parlait avec pr\u00e9caution dans un film \u00e9mouvant de 1947 \u00ab\u00a0Gentlemen Agreement\u00a0\u00bb, mais la Communaut\u00e9 juive organis\u00e9e l’a longtemps consid\u00e9r\u00e9 comme un d\u00e9sordre psychique marginal. Les sionistes contemporains esp\u00e9raient qu’avec la cr\u00e9ation de l’\u00e9tat d’Isra\u00ebl, cette \u00ab\u00a0n\u00e9vrose de la Diaspora\u00a0\u00bb se dissiperait. On s’attendait qu’avec la disparition de l’ins\u00e9curit\u00e9, cette pathologie s’estomperait. En d’autres termes, un \u00e9tat juif fier et puissant pouvait prot\u00e9ger ces Juifs de leur vuln\u00e9rabilit\u00e9 et leur donner la force de rejeter leur propre d\u00e9nigrement. H\u00e9las! L’histoire a plus d’un tour dans sa manche. Le d\u00e9veloppement d’un Isra\u00ebl fort et d\u00e9termin\u00e9, engag\u00e9 \u00e0 ne plus laisser les Juifs redevenir des victimes, a permis \u00e0 certains parmi les pires Juifs antis\u00e9mites, nich\u00e9s dans les franges radicales de la gauche, dans les universit\u00e9s et l'\u00a0\u00bbintelligentsia\u00a0\u00bb, de s’\u00e9panouir sous le parapluie de Tsahal (3).<\/p>\n

Pr Shlomo Sand, un communiste pur et dur de la facult\u00e9 d’histoire \u00e0 l’Universit\u00e9 de Tel Aviv est l’un des promoteurs les plus virulents de la mythologie antis\u00e9mite. Il a publi\u00e9 l’an dernier un livre chez un \u00e9diteur gauchiste anti-isra\u00e9lien, o\u00f9 il cherchait \u00e0 prouver que les Juifs ne sont pas et n’ont jamais \u00e9t\u00e9 un peuple. Reprenant des mythes qui circulent dans les sites web n\u00e9o-nazis, tout le livre de Sand est une esp\u00e8ce de \u00ab\u00a0Protocoles des Sages de Sion\u00a0\u00bb, une pseudo-analyse qui pr\u00e9tend que tous les juifs contemporains, ne seraient pas Juifs, mais descendants des Khazars, un moment convertis au Juda\u00efsme. Selon ce professeur \u00ab\u00a0\u00e9rudit\u00a0\u00bb, les Juifs r\u00e9els ne seraient que les Palestiniens, devenus musulmans lors de l’invasion de l’Islam. N’\u00e9tant pas vraiment Juifs, les faux Juifs n’ont donc pas droit \u00e0 la terre d’Isra\u00ebl\u2026 Financ\u00e9 par l’Universit\u00e9 de Tel Aviv, cet homme parcourt la terre enti\u00e8re, pour vanter sa th\u00e8se, vendre son livre et recommander l’\u00e9limination d’Isra\u00ebl. Un autre professeur, retrait\u00e9 aujourd’hui, le d\u00e9passe en antis\u00e9mitisme, Ariel Toaff, qui pr\u00e9tend avoir la preuve que les Juifs utilisent du sang non juif dans un rituel religieux, calomnie classique de l’antis\u00e9mitisme ordinaire, aujourd’hui adopt\u00e9e par un Juif antis\u00e9mite. Le concept d’ironie n’est pas assez vaste pour englober un tel d\u00e9veloppement (4) <\/p>\n

Il est difficile d’expliquer ce qui motive ces Juifs antis\u00e9mites. Une des rares personnes \u00e0 avoir un peu approfondi ce sujet est Kenneth Levin, psychiatre \u00e0 Harvard et journaliste occasionnel dans ce site. Il pense que l’une des raisons de cet antis\u00e9mitisme, c’est le d\u00e9sir de certains Juifs d’\u00eatre reconnus sur le plan social dans un environnement hostile aux Juifs (5). <\/b> Il le comprend aussi comme une tentative infantile de neutraliser une situation mena\u00e7ante par un auto-bl\u00e2me<\/b>, attitude qu’on rencontre chez les jeunes enfants qui ont \u00e9t\u00e9 viol\u00e9s. Enfin, il donne aussi une autre explication, en consid\u00e9rant ce ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne comme le cousin germain en quelque sorte du fameux \u00ab\u00a0syndrome de Stockholm<\/b>\u00ab\u00a0, o\u00f9 les victimes adoptent le point de vue et les arguments de l’agresseur (6)<\/p>\n

Aujourd’hui, l’antis\u00e9mitisme est le d\u00e9nominateur commun qui unit la gauche radicale avec la droite n\u00e9o-nazie aux Etats-Unis et en Europe. Les Juifs antis\u00e9mites fleurissent dans les zones d’ombre aux franges du paysage politique. Dans l’ultra-gauche am\u00e9ricaine, beaucoup sont des journalistes du magazine extr\u00e9miste du web \u201cCounterpunc<\/i>h\u201d, publi\u00e9 par des ex-britanniques, Alexander et Andrew Cockburn, les dignes fils de leur p\u00e8re stalinien, Claud Cockburn, ennemi jur\u00e9 de George Orwell. Counterpunch \u00a0<\/i>est ouvertement antis\u00e9mite, appelant \u00e0 l’\u00e9limination d’Isra\u00ebl. Il soutient les th\u00e9ories de conspiration, comme la th\u00e9orie imb\u00e9cile des \u00ab\u00a0Juifs derri\u00e8re les attentats du 11\/9\u00a0\u00bb et publie de plus en plus des articles de n\u00e9gateurs de l’Holocauste. Certains de ses journalistes sont de m\u00e8che avec des organisations et des sites internet n\u00e9o-nazis. Tout Juif lettr\u00e9 antis\u00e9mite \u00e9crit dans ce site web\u2026. La psychose de cet antis\u00e9mitisme juif ne trouve nulle part son pendant dans aucune nation, faisant de ce cas, un cas unique de th\u00e9rapeute. Cette pathologie non seulement montre l’absence de normalit\u00e9 dans le juda\u00efsme du 21\u00e8me<\/sup> si\u00e8cle, mais elle met en danger la survie de l’\u00e9tat d’Isra\u00ebl et des Communaut\u00e9s juives \u00e0 travers le monde. C’est une activit\u00e9 en fort d\u00e9veloppement et elle imprime un sceau pervers d’approbation pour tout projet g\u00e9nocidaire de tout groupe terroriste, recherchant la gloire et l’aura de ceux qui assassinent des Juifs.<\/p>\n

Il est presque impossible d’y trouver des auteurs juifs qui n’y fassent pas de comparaison entre Isra\u00ebl et l’Allemagne nazie. Par exemple, Jennifer Loewenstein de l’Universit\u00e9 de Wisconsin a publi\u00e9 \u00ab\u00a0l’Holocauste de Gaza\u00a0\u00bb dans lequel elle \u00e9crit: \u00ab\u00a0Isra\u00ebl et son ma\u00eetre am\u00e9ricain r\u00e9sident depuis longtemps au plus bas de l’enfer, trahissant le nom de l’humanit\u00e9<\/i>\u00a0\u00bb Elle ajoute qu’Isra\u00ebl traite les Palestiniens d’\u00eatres sous-humains, employant le mot \u201cUntermenschen<\/i>\u201d, pour rappeler le traitement subi par les Juifs, du fait des Allemands. Puis, dans une citation qui aurait pu \u00eatre faite par le journal nazi Der Sturmer <\/i>des ann\u00e9es 30, elle ajoute: \u00ab\u00a0Les nouveaux ma\u00eetres juifs et leurs alli\u00e9s aux Etats-Unis\u2026 n’ont pas l’intention de faire la paix avec les formes inf\u00e9rieures qui vivent en leur sein<\/i>\u00ab\u00a0. Pour Loewenstein, dans sa vision de la r\u00e9alit\u00e9, si Isra\u00ebl pratique le terrorisme d’\u00e9tat, c’est qu’il a entra\u00een\u00e9 le gouvernement am\u00e9ricain dans une \u00ab\u00a0cabale\u00a0\u00bb o\u00f9 il dicterait la politique \u00e0 suivre. Une mise \u00e0 jour de vieux poncifs et st\u00e9r\u00e9otypes du Juif qui manigance. <\/b><\/p>\n

Un autre antis\u00e9mite qui s\u00e9vit \u00e0 Counterpunch<\/i>, \u00a0<\/i>c’est Richard Falk, un professeur retrait\u00e9 de Princeton, connu pour avoir servi dans la Commission de l’Onu qui a condamn\u00e9 Isra\u00ebl pour \u00ab\u00a0crimes de guerre et g\u00e9nocide\u00a0\u00bb, bien avant d’avoir commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 enqu\u00eater sur les op\u00e9rations d’Isra\u00ebl \u00e0 Gaza. Falk n’est pas seulement l’un des pires promoteurs de la guerre universitaire contre les Juifs, il est aussi le principal agent am\u00e9ricain dans l’inversion Orwellienne de la r\u00e9alit\u00e9, dans laquelle Isra\u00ebl est l’agresseur terroriste, alors que les agresseurs arabes sont d’innocentes victimes et des gens de progr\u00e8s, amoureux de la paix. Pour lui, Isra\u00ebl est un pays du type nazi cherchant \u00e0 tuer, alors que les islamo-fascistes du Hamas et ceux qui les soutiennent sont simplement des r\u00e9sistants qui protestent contre l’in\u00e9galit\u00e9 sociale au sein d’Isra\u00ebl. Pour lui, l’agression terroriste contre les Juifs est qualifi\u00e9e de \u00ab\u00a0poursuite de la paix\u00a0\u00bb, alors que l’auto-d\u00e9fense d’Isra\u00ebl est \u00ab\u00a0un g\u00e9nocide\u00a0\u00bb. En 2007, Falk a publi\u00e9 \u00ab\u00a0En marche vers un holocauste palestinien<\/i>\u00a0\u00bb o\u00f9 il pr\u00e9tend que \u00ab\u00a0ce n’est pas exag\u00e9r\u00e9 d’associer le traitement subi par les Palestiniens, avec l’extermination des Juifs par les nazis\u00a0\u00bb. Il \u00e9crit: \u00ab\u00a0Les d\u00e9veloppements r\u00e9cents \u00e0 Gaza sont\u00a0 tr\u00e8s inqui\u00e9tants car ils expriment d’une mani\u00e8re \u00e9clatante l’intention d\u00e9lib\u00e9r\u00e9e de la part d’Isra\u00ebl et de ses alli\u00e9s de soumettre toute une communaut\u00e9, dans des conditions les plus cruelles, mettant sa vie en danger de mort<\/i>. Si ce mod\u00e8le de conduite est compar\u00e9 \u00e0 un holocauste en pr\u00e9paration, c’est qu’il s’agit d’un appel d\u00e9sesp\u00e9r\u00e9 pour attirer l’attention des gouvernements du monde et de l’opinion publique internationale pour agir d’urgence, et emp\u00eacher ces tendances g\u00e9nocidaires de se transformer en une trag\u00e9die collective<\/i>\u00ab\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

Un autre individu contribue au site Counterpunch<\/i>, <\/i>un ex-Isra\u00e9lien Gilad Atzmon, joueur de saxophone, vivant en Angleterre et \u00e9troitement li\u00e9 \u00e0 des groupes n\u00e9o-nazis en Europe. Actif dans des organisations pro-terroristes, Atzmon est si ouvertement antis\u00e9mite que m\u00eame certains groupes anti-isra\u00e9liens refusent d’avoir des liens avec lui. L’\u00e9crivain anglais connu Oliver Kamm l’a d\u00e9nonc\u00e9 comme un n\u00e9gationniste de l’Holocauste. Atzmon a appel\u00e9 \u00e0 la destruction d’Isra\u00ebl et \u00e0 l’embrasement des synagogues. Il dirige une petite clique de n\u00e9o-nazis en Italie, dont il est le gourou. Il a fr\u00e9quemment r\u00e9p\u00e9t\u00e9 que \u00ab\u00a0les Protocoles des Sages de Sion\u00a0\u00bb \u00e9tait un document historique t\u00e9moignant des crimes du peuple juif.<\/p>\n

Paul Eisen, un autre juif extr\u00e9miste anti-Isra\u00ebl au Royaume Uni est aussi un individu qui nie ouvertement l’Holocauste. Il a distribu\u00e9 un essai intitul\u00e9 \u00ab\u00a0les guerres de l’Holocauste\u00a0\u00bb o\u00f9 il appuie les n\u00e9gationnistes et o\u00f9 il clame, entre autres, que les chambres \u00e0 gaz \u00e0 Auschwitz n’ont pas pu fonctionner comme on le dit. Ses sources sont David Irving et le fanatique n\u00e9o-nazi Ernst Zundel, chass\u00e9 du Canada, et aujourd’hui en prison en Allemagne.<\/p>\n

De nombreux antis\u00e9mites juifs se sont lanc\u00e9s dans l’aventure de nier l’Holocauste, dans un \u00e9trange forum appel\u00e9 \u00ab\u00a0Alef\u00a0\u00bb, cr\u00e9\u00e9 sous les auspices de l’Universit\u00e9 de Haifa, d\u00e9battant sans fin si Hitler \u00e9tait vraiment coupable de quoi que ce soit, avec la conclusion qu’il ne l’\u00e9tait pas. Shraga Elam, un ex-isra\u00e9lien bas\u00e9 en Suisse et membre de ce forum \u00ab\u00a0Alef\u00a0\u00bb a publi\u00e9 une lettre de flagornerie, louant le n\u00e9gateur David Irving comme un \u00ab\u00a0brillant chercheur\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p>\n

Israel Shamir est le plus venimeux n\u00e9gateur de l’Holocauste, n\u00e9 juif, ayant \u00e9migr\u00e9 en Isra\u00ebl d’Union sovi\u00e9tique, puis parti en Su\u00e8de, changeant son nom en Adam Ermash, et converti au christianisme. Un vulgaire \u00ab\u00a0bouffeur\u00a0\u00bb de juifs, il suit de pr\u00e8s toutes les conf\u00e9rences o\u00f9 on nie l’holocauste pour apporter sa contribution. Dans une interview avec l’islamiste Mohamed Omar, en ao\u00fbt 2009, il lan\u00e7a son poison: \u00ab\u00a0Je pense qu’il est du devoir de tout musulman et de tout chr\u00e9tien de nier l’Holocauste, de rejeter cette croyance, tout comme Abraham et Mo\u00efse ont rejet\u00e9 l’idol\u00e2trie. Toute personne qui a foi en Dieu devrait nier l’Holocauste. Je pense qu’il est plus s\u00e9rieux que les gens d\u00e9nigrent Dieu, non ?<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

En Isra\u00ebl l’un des juifs le plus ouvertement antis\u00e9mite est le Pr Israel Shahak qui enseignait la chimie pendant des d\u00e9cennies \u00e0 l’Universit\u00e9 H\u00e9bra\u00efque. Il insistait disant que le juda\u00efsme enseignait l’adoration de Satan, et qu’il fallait se liguer contre les non juifs pour les tuer. Encore un peu, il parlait \u00ab\u00a0de l’usage de sang non juif pour des besoins rituels\u00a0\u00bb. Il clamait que la Talmud \u00e9tait plein d’appels au meurtre de non juifs, trait\u00e9s de sous-humains. Il a coop\u00e9r\u00e9 avec les n\u00e9o-nazis partout dans le monde. Bien s\u00fbr, il voulait qu’Isra\u00ebl f\u00fbt rapidement d\u00e9truit et il a \u00e9t\u00e9 un des premiers \u00e0 coop\u00e9rer avec les terroristes palestiniens, bien avant le processus de paix d’Oslo. Beaucoup d’autres l’ont imit\u00e9 depuis. L’\u00e9crivain anglais Paul Bogdanor note dans une analyse de Shahak: \u00ab\u00a0Selon Shahak, les Juifs ne pensent qu’\u00e0 faire de l’argent, pour le b\u00e9n\u00e9fice de l’\u00e9tat juif\u2026 selon Shahak, les Juifs complotent pour dominer le monde, \u00e0 travers un empire du Maroc \u00e0 l’ouest jusqu’en Chine \u00e0 l’Est\u2026.Ils facilitent la diss\u00e9mination du vice, pour asservir les masses, par la drogue qui les rendrait apathiques\u2026\u00a0\u00bb<\/i><\/p>\n

Sans oublier Noam Chomsky, un anti-am\u00e9ricain extr\u00e9miste notoire, professeur de linguistique au MIT. Fils d’un enseignant au College Gratz de Philadelphie, Chomsky d\u00e9teste Isra\u00ebl presqu’autant qu’il hait l’Am\u00e9rique. Il consid\u00e8re les 2 pays comme pires que l’Allemagne nazie. Il a fait campagne au profit du n\u00e9gationniste fran\u00e7ais Robert Faurisson et d’autres n\u00e9o-nazis europ\u00e9ens. Sous pr\u00e9texte de libert\u00e9 de parole, il soutient des propos nazis, se fait publier par des \u00e9diteurs nazis, il collabore \u00e0 un journal n\u00e9o-nazi qui fait la promotion de ses livres en m\u00eame temps que la pens\u00e9e de Joseph Goebbels. C’est le ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne Chomsky\u2026<\/b><\/p>\n

Norman Finkelstein est moins ouvertement antis\u00e9mite, marginalement seulement. Professeur \u00e0 l’Universit\u00e9 DePaul, il a \u00e9t\u00e9 licenci\u00e9 il y a 3 ans et il est rest\u00e9 sans emploi. Sa carri\u00e8re a \u00e9t\u00e9 construite sur des mensonges et de la fraude. Il a pris le parti de la terreur islamo-fasciste contre sa patrie. Son site personnel est un caniveau de quolibets infantiles et antis\u00e9mites. Il pr\u00e9tend que les Sionistes ont exag\u00e9r\u00e9 les dimensions de la Shoah pour voler de l’argent \u00e0 l’Allemagne. Il a fait un p\u00e8lerinage aupr\u00e8s du Hezbollah. Son livre \u00ab\u00a0L’industrie de l’Holocauste\u00a0\u00bb est devenu un classique \u00e0 l’usage des n\u00e9gationnistes et des n\u00e9o-nazis. The Pathology of Jewish Anti-Semitism<\/b><\/p>\n

Jewish anti-Semitism. It sounds like a contradiction in terms, an oxymoron or a Jackie Mason joke.\u00a0 If only this were the case.<\/b><\/p>\n

Jewish anti-Semitism is all around us, part of the political air we breathe, a modern disease.\u00a0 In the twenty-first century the world is experiencing an explosion of it, a virtual plague.\u00a0 Among the most malicious and venomous of all bigots, the Jewish anti-Semites are at the forefront of every smear campaign against Israel and every attempt to cow Jews of America and the West into guilty support for those in the Middle East who would like to annihilate them.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Jews today are leaders in the campaigns to boycott and \u201cdivest from\u201d Israel, and in the leadership of the \u201cSolidarity with Terrorists\u201d groups.\u00a0 They make pilgrimage to the camps of Hamas and the Hezb\u2019Allah, cheering on terrorists and their atrocities against Jews.\u00a0 They pioneered the smear campaigns to paint Israel as an apartheid regime and to stigmatize it as the moral equivalent to Nazi Germany.<\/p>\n

Western campuses are crawling with Jewish anti-Semites. Some even hold leadership positions in Hillel houses.\u00a0 Many others are tenured professors.\u00a0 An anti-Semitic Jewish judge (Richard Goldstone) chaired a UN commission demonizing Israel. A Jewish member of Britain\u2019s Parliament (Gerald Kaufman) compared Hamas terrorists to Jewish fighters in the Warsaw Ghetto and denounced Israel as a Nazi entity.\u00a0 Nor is this only an American phenomenon: a shockingly large number of Jewish anti-Semites are Israelis or ex-Israelis.<\/p>\n

Most Jews dismiss such people as \u201cself-hating,\u201d but this term is misleading at best.\u00a0These rogues do not hate themselves.\u00a0 Indeed they are narcissistic to the core.\u00a0 They hate other Jews<\/i> and wish them<\/i> harm. Nor are these Jewish anti-Semites simply assimilationists of Jewish descent who have lost interest in their heritage, become indifferent towards the history of their people and therefore casually alienated from Israel and its travails.\u00a0On the contrary, anti-Semitic Jews are intensely involved in their \u201croots\u201d and use them adroitly as protective coloration from which they advance their treasonous notions. In some extreme cases they collaborate with Neo-Nazis, Islamist terrorists, and even Holocaust Deniers.<\/b><\/p>\n

Jewish anti-Semitism was once considered a bizarre irrelevance.\u00a0 It was touched upon gingerly in the ground breaking 1947 film, \u201cGentleman\u2019s Agreement,\u201d but long ignored as a marginal psychological disorder by the organized Jewish community. Modern Zionists expected that the very creation of Israel would put an end to any neurotic self-hatred that afflicted Diaspora communities.\u00a0 It was expected to end not only Jewish physical insecurity but also spiritual pathology.\u00a0A strong and proud Israel, in other words, would shield Jews from a sense of vulnerability and empower them to throw off self denial. Alas, history had a surprise up its sleeve: the growth of a powerful and determined Israel committed to never again allowing Jews to become victims has also enabled some of the very worst Jewish anti-Semites on the planet, all of whom shelter in the radical fringes of the Israeli Left, its academic institutions and its \u201cintelligentsia,\u201d thriving under the protective umbrella of the Israeli Defense Force.<\/p>\n

Among the most open Israeli promoters of anti-Semitic mythology today is Professor Shlomo Sand, a hardcore communist on the history faculty of Tel Aviv University.\u00a0 Sand last year published a book with a far-left anti-Israel publisher claiming to prove that Jews are not and never have been a \u201cpeople.\u201d Recycling myths<\/a> popularized by Neo-Nazi web sites, Sand\u2019s entire book is a sort of Protocols of the Elders of Anti-Zion, a pseudo-analysis that claims that most Jews today are frauds, converts from the Khazar<\/a> Turkic tribe, impersonators of Jews.\u00a0 All real<\/i> Jews, according to the learned professor, became Palestinian Arabs centuries ago.\u00a0 Hence Israeli \u201cJews\u201d are not Jews at all, certainly none that have a right to their own state.<\/p>\n

Sand travels the globe with Tel Aviv University funding to tout his book and advocate the extermination of Israel.\u00a0 He is surpassed in his anti-Semitism only by one other Israeli professor, now retired, named Ariel Toaff, who claimed<\/a> to have evidence that Jews use gentile blood in religious ritual.\u00a0 Blood libel: one of the foundations of traditional anti Semitism now embraced by Jewish anti Semites.\u00a0 The concept of irony is not spacious enough to encompass such a development. (Other anti-Semitic Israeli academics are cataloged on the web site Isracampus.org.il<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

Just what makes Jewish anti-Semites tick is hard to explain.\u00a0 One of the few people to take a serious stab at doing so is Kenneth Levin<\/a>, a psychiatrist at Harvard and an occasional contributor to these pages.\u00a0 He thinks of Jewish anti-Semitism in part as an attempt by some Jews to gain social acceptance in an environment that is hostile towards Jews.\u00a0 He also understands it as an infantile attempt to rectify a menacing situation by self-blame, a response seen in small children who have been abused. And he also considers it a kissing cousin to the notorious \u201cStockholm Syndrome,\u201d whereby victims adopt the outlook and agenda of their victimizers.<\/b><\/p>\n

Anti-Semitism is today the main common denominator that unites the far-Left with the Neo-Nazi Right in the United States and in Europe.\u00a0 Jewish anti-Semites thrive in the shadowy areas found at both ends of the political spectrum.\u00a0 In the American ultra-Left many serve as columnists for the extremist \u201cCounterpunc<\/i>h\u201d web magazine, published by the ex-Brits Alexander and Andrew Cockburn, sons perpetuating the work of their Stalinist father (and George Orwell enemy) Claud Cockburn. \u00a0 Counterpunch<\/i> is so openly anti-Semitic these days that it goes well beyond merely calling for Israel\u2019s extermination.\u00a0 It endorses anti-Semitic conspiracy \u201ctheories\u201d (such as the morally imbecilic idea that Jews were behind the 9-11 attacks!) and increasingly publishes Holocaust Denier columnists.\u00a0 Some of its columnists moonlight as writers for Neo-Nazi web sites and organizations. Almost every literate Jewish anti-Semite writes for this publication. <\/p>\n

On the cyber-pages of Counterpunch<\/i>, Jewish anti-Semites cheer on the jihad and endorse anti-Jewish terrorism. It would be difficult to find Jewish writers in Counterpunch<\/i> who are not<\/i> making the de rigueur<\/i> comparisons between Israel and Nazi Germany.\u00a0 The University of Wisconsin\u2019s Jennifer Loewenstein, for instance, published \u201cGaza Holocaust<\/a>,\u201d in which she writes:\u00a0 \u201cIsrael and its US Master have long since resided in the lowest circle of Hell for betraying the name of humanity.\u201d\u00a0 She adds that Israel treats Palestinians as subhuman \u201cUntermenschen<\/i>,\u201d reminiscent of German treatment of Jews in the Holocaust.\u00a0 Then, in a quote that could easily have been printed by the Nazi newspaper Der<\/i> Sturmer <\/i>in the 1930s, she adds: \u201cThe Neo-Jewish Masters and their allies in the United States\u2026 have no intention of making a just peace with the lower forms of life in their midst.\u201d\u00a0 In Loewenstein\u2019s take on reality, Israel can engage in state terror because it operates a sinister cabal that enslaves the American government and dictates its policies. A new postmodern take on the old racist stereotype of Jews as cagey intriguers.<\/p>\n

Another Counterpunch<\/i> anti-Semite is Richard Falk, a retired professor from Princeton best known for serving on the UN commission that condemned Israel for \u201cgenocidal war crimes\u201d even before<\/i> it began its investigation of Israel\u2019s Gaza operations. Falk is not only one of the worst collaborators in the academics warring against the Jews, he is also America\u2019s leading practitioner of the Orwellian inversion of reality in which Israel is a terrorist aggressor, while the Arab terrorist aggressors are innocent victims and peace-loving progressives.\u00a0 For him, Israel is a Nazi-like country seeking genocide, while the Islamofascists of the Hamas and their backers are merely protesters against social inequality inside Israel.\u00a0 For him, terrorist aggression against Jews is really the pursuit of peace, while self-defense by Israel is genocide.<\/p>\n

In 2007 Falk published, \u201cSlouching toward a Palestinian Holocaust<\/a>,\u201d in which he wrote that it was not an \u201cirresponsible overstatement to associate [Israel\u2019s] treatment of Palestinians\u201d with the Nazi extermination of Jews:<\/p>\n

\u201cThe recent developments in Gaza are especially disturbing because they express so vividly a deliberate intention on the part of Israel and its allies to subject an entire human community to life-endangering conditions of utmost cruelty. The suggestion that this pattern of conduct is a holocaust-in-the-making represents a rather desperate appeal to the governments of the world and to international public opinion to act urgently to prevent these current genocidal tendencies from culminating in a collective tragedy.\u201d<\/p>\n

One of the regular contributors to Counterpunch is an ex-Israeli named Gilad Atzmon<\/a>.\u00a0 He is a saxophone player living in the UK and closely associated with Neo-Nazi<\/a> groups in Europe.\u00a0 While active in pro-terror organizations, Atzmon is so openly anti-Semitic that some of these anti-Israel groups shun and refuse to have anything to do with him.\u00a0 The well-known British writer Oliver Kamm has denounced<\/a> Atzmon as an open Holocaust Denier<\/a>.\u00a0 Atzmon has called not only for Israel to be annihilated but also for synagogues<\/a> to be burned down.\u00a0 He heads a small clique<\/a> of Neo-Nazi followers, mainly in Italy, for whom he serves as cult leader.\u00a0 Atzmon has repeatedly asserted that the<\/a> Protocols of the Elders of Zion <\/i>is a historically accurate documentation of the crimes by the Jewish people.<\/p>\n

Paul Eisen, another anti-Israel Jewish extremist in the UK, is also an open Holocaust Denier<\/a>.\u00a0 He has distributed an essay endorsing Holocaust Denial entitled \u201cHolocaust Wars,\u201d which claims \u2013 among other things \u2013 that the gas chambers of Auschwitz could not possibly have worked to the degree that they did.\u00a0 Among its \u201csources\u201d are David Irving and the Neo-Nazi crank Ernst Zundel, deported by Canada and now in prison in Germany.<\/p>\n

Several Jewish anti-Semites engaged in a bizarre form of Holocaust Denial on the anti-Semitic \u201cALEF\u201d chat list that operates under the auspices of the University of Haifa in Israel.\u00a0 Members of that list debated at length whether Hitler<\/a> was actually guilty of anything, concluding that he was probably not.\u00a0 Shraga Elam, a Swiss-based ex-Israeli and a member of the same \u201cALEF\u201d list, published a sycophantic letter<\/a> praising Holocaust Denier David Irving as a \u201cbrilliant researcher.\u201d<\/p>\n

The most venomous Jewish-born Holocaust Denier of all is Israel Shamir.\u00a0 An \u00e9migr\u00e9 from the Soviet Union, \u201cShamir\u201d moved to Israel and later left for Sweden, where he changed his name to Adam Ermash and reportedly converted to Christianity. A vulgar Jewbaiter, he regularly attends Holocaust Denial conferences.\u00a0 As just one example of his poison, in an interview with the Islamist Mohamed Omar in August 2009, Shamir said<\/a>:<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it is the duty of every Muslim and Christian to deny the Holocaust, to reject this belief, just like Abraham and Moses rejected idolatry<\/a>. Every person who profess [sic] their [sic] faith to God should deny the Holocaust. I think it\u2019s much more serious that people deny God, isn\u2019t it?\u201d<\/p>\n

Within Israel, one of the most openly anti-Semitic Jews was the late Professor Israel Shahak, who taught chemistry for decades at the Hebrew University.\u00a0 He insisted that Judaism<\/a> teaches Jews to worship Satan, to connive against non-Jews and to murder them.\u00a0 He stopped just millimeters short of saying that Jews use gentile blood for ritual purposes. He claimed that<\/a> the Talmud is filled with calls to murder gentiles, and that Jews regard gentiles as subhuman.\u00a0 He collaborated with<\/a> Neo-Nazis all over the world.\u00a0 Naturally he wanted Israel to be speedily destroyed, and he was one of the first Israelis to openly collaborate with Palestinian terrorism, long before the Oslo \u201cprocess\u201d commenced and produced so many others who have emulated him.<\/p>\n

In an analysis of Shahak, the British writer Paul Bogdanor notes<\/a>: \u201cAccording to Shahak, the Jews think of nothing but making money<\/a> for the benefit of the Jewish state \u2026 \u00a0According to Shahak, the Jews plan to dominate much of the world<\/a> through an Israeli empire \u2026\u201cextending [in Shahak\u2019s words] from \u2018Algeria or Morocco\u2019 from the west to China in the east, and from Kenya or even South Africa in the south to the USSR in the north\u2026 \u00a0According to Shahak, the Jews facilitate the spread of vice<\/a> in order to enslave the masses (\u201cPart of the motivation\u201d must be \u201cencouraging drug addiction and thus promoting political apathy\u201d)\u2026.\u201d<\/p>\n

In other cases prominent Jews endorse Holocaust Deniers while carefully tiptoeing around explicitly endorsing Holocaust Denial itself.\u00a0 The best known of these is Noam Chomsky, an extremist anti-American and anti-Israel<\/a> professor of linguistics at MIT.<\/p>\n

Son of a Hebrew teacher at Gratz College in Philadelphia, Chomsky despises Israel<\/a> almost as deeply as he hates America.\u00a0 He considers both countries worse<\/a> than Nazi Germany.\u00a0 Chomsky has campaigned on behalf of the<\/a> French Holocaust Denier Robert Faurisson and other European Neo-Nazis<\/a>. He has said in his own defense that he only wants this hate to be protected under laws guaranteeing freedom of speech, but as Professor Werner Cohn has proven, Chomsky also endorses<\/a> the contents of their speech: \u201cBut in fact we saw that [in addition to justifying] \u2026Faurisson\u2019s Holocaust-denial, we found Chomsky publishing his own books with neo-Nazi publishers, we saw him writing for a neo-Nazi journal, we saw that the neo-Nazis promote Chomsky\u2019s books and tapes together with the works of Joseph Goebbels. It is this complex of anti-Semitic activities and neo-Nazi associations, not his professed ideas alone, that constitutes the Chomsky phenomenon.\u201d<\/p>\n

Only marginally less openly anti-Semitic is Norman Finkelstein, who had been on the faculty of DePaul University until he was fired three years back (and has been unemployed ever since).\u00a0 Finkelstein has built an entire career out of smearing Holocaust survivors as frauds and liars, and cheering on Islamofascist terrorism against Jews.\u00a0 His personal web site is a vulgar gutter of juvenile anti-Semitic catcalls. He claims that Zionists exaggerate the dimensions of the Shoah to steal money and invent Holocaust survivors to exploit Germany.\u00a0 He has made pilgrimage to the Hezb\u2019Allah terrorists and was denied entry into Israel on grounds that he is a terrorist agent.\u00a0 Finkelstein\u2019s book \u201cThe Holocaust Industry\u201d has become a basic text used by all Neo-Nazis and Holocaust Deniers.\u00a0 He has praised Holocaust Denier David Irving as a great and reliable historian.\u00a0 (Irving, in turn, claims the entire Holocaust is a Zionist hoax and that no Jews were murdered in Auschwitz.)<\/p>\n

While Finkelstein is a pseudo-academic and a fraud, dismissed as a crackpot by all serious historians, he is nevertheless celebrated by all other Jewish Anti-Semites.\u00a0 One Israeli academic in particular, Neve Gordon, an Israel-hating extremist who teaches political science at Ben Gurion University, has devoted much of his career to celebrating Finkelstein and his \u201cideas.\u201d When he is not denouncing Israel as a fascist apartheid terrorist regime that needs to be eliminated, Gordon has even compared Finkelstein to the Prophets of the Bible.<\/p>\n

The psychosis of Jewish anti-Semitism has no comparable analogue among the nations, making the Jews a therapist\u2019s sui generis<\/i>. The disease of Jewish anti-Semitism not only illustrates the absence of \u201cnormality\u201d among 21st<\/sup> century Jewry, it threatens the very survival of Israel and of Jewish communities around the world. It is a growth industry and it puts a perverse stamp of approval on every genocidal plan conceived by every terrorist sect contemplating the glory that awaits those who murder Jews.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n\n
