Le doyen des clubs tunisiens encore en exercice n\u2019est ni l\u2019Esp\u00e9rance ni le Club Africain mais bel et bien l\u2019Union sportive tunisienne (UST).<\/p>\n

En effet, cette association sportive fond\u00e9e en 1917 continue \u00e0 exister \u00e0 travers sa section f\u00e9minine de football qui s\u2019est r\u00e9cemment illustr\u00e9e en remportant le championnat de Tunisie en 2005 et la Coupe de la Ligue de football en 2016.<\/p>\n

L\u2019UST est n\u00e9e il y a un si\u00e8cle, apr\u00e8s un incident grave qui, pourtant, allait devenir le moment de refondation du football tunisien.<\/p>\n

A cette \u00e9poque, la sc\u00e8ne sportive \u00e9tait domin\u00e9e par les \u00e9quipes d\u2019origine fran\u00e7aise ou italienne \u00e0 l\u2019image du Racing Club de Tunis ou de l\u2019Italia.<\/p>\n

De rares \u00e9quipes repr\u00e9sentaient \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9poque le football tunisien. En ce temps, le Stade Africain r\u00e9unissait les joueurs de confession musulmane alors que les juifs tunisiens militaient au sein du Stade Tunisois.<\/p>\n

Une rencontre entre ces deux \u00e9quipes allait mettre le feu aux poudres et d\u00e9g\u00e9n\u00e9rer en \u00e9meute. Devant ces graves incidents, la tutelle de l\u2019\u00e9poque d\u00e9cida de dissoudre les deux \u00e9quipes.
\nC\u2019est dans ces circonstances que na\u00eetra l\u2019UST dont la cr\u00e9ation avait pour ses fondateurs la valeur d\u2019un symbole.<\/p>\n

En effet, \u00e0 ses origines, l\u2019UST a pris la forme d\u2019une association qui r\u00e9unissait sous les m\u00eames couleurs des joueurs juifs et musulmans. D\u2019ailleurs, le premier comit\u00e9 de l\u2019UST r\u00e9unissait entre autres Albert Nataf et Salah Soudani qui sera plus tard l\u2019un des fondateurs du Club Africain.<\/p>\n

Sur le terrain, plusieurs des joueurs qui feront ensuite le bonheur du CA portaient la casaque bleue et blanche de l\u2019UST. Citons par exemple Mustapha Zmerli ou Tijani Kabadou qui jouaient alors avec les Nessim Berrebi et autres Adolphe Bellaiche.<\/p>\n

Toutefois, la cr\u00e9ation de l\u2019Esp\u00e9rance sportive et du Club Africain allait mettre un terme \u00e0 cette exp\u00e9rience intercommunautaire. Depuis la fondation de ces deux \u00e9quipes, l\u2019UST deviendra le club de la communaut\u00e9 juive tunisienne et conna\u00eetra d\u2019ailleurs des ann\u00e9es fastes sous la pr\u00e9sidence d\u2019Henri Smadja, Albert Haddad ou Moise Slama.<\/p>\n

L\u2019UST allait se distinguer en remportant trois titres de champion (1930, 1931 et 1933) et cinq coupes de Tunisie entre 1931 et 1935.<\/p>\n

La Deuxi\u00e8me guerre mondiale allait mettre un terme \u00e0 cette belle s\u00e9rie. Devant l\u2019arr\u00eat des comp\u00e9titions, les joueurs de l\u2019UST se disperseront et l\u2019\u00e9quipe ne retrouvera les terrains qu\u2019en 1945 avec l\u2019apparition d\u2019une nouvelle g\u00e9n\u00e9ration de joueurs et de dirigeants.<\/p>\n

Toutefois, en 1950, l\u2019UST allait r\u00e9trograder en division inf\u00e9rieure et aussi retrouver progressivement son caract\u00e8re d\u2019\u00e9quipe multiconfessionnelle. En effet, de nombreux juifs tunisiens avaient \u00e0 cette \u00e9poque quitt\u00e9 le pays.<\/p>\n

Devant l\u2019\u00e9migration massive des joueurs et aussi des supporteurs et des dirigeants, l\u2019UST allait conna\u00eetre de nombreuses difficult\u00e9s qui, peu \u00e0 peu, m\u00e8neront l\u2019\u00e9quipe au plus bas de la hi\u00e9rarchie sportive, en troisi\u00e8me division.<\/p>\n

L\u2019\u00e9quipe de foot avait pourtant retrouv\u00e9 la Nationale en 1969. L\u2019UST avait \u00e9galement connu une g\u00e9n\u00e9ration de joueurs formidables dans les ann\u00e9es 1950-1960 avec les Popaul Perez, Kiki Lakhal et autres B\u00e9b\u00e9 Slama. Rien n\u2019y fera: le club sombrera.<\/p>\n

Ce n\u2019est qu\u2019au d\u00e9but du nouveau si\u00e8cle que le club retrouvera des couleurs gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 la cr\u00e9ation d\u2019une section f\u00e9minine qui s\u2019imposera comme l\u2019une des meilleures \u00e9quipes de cette discipline.<\/p>\n

Gr\u00e2ce aux efforts du docteur Jean-Pierre Liscia, pr\u00e9sident de l\u2019UST durant cinquante ans, la continuit\u00e9 de l\u2019\u00e9quipe \u00e9tait ainsi assur\u00e9e malgr\u00e9 la dissolution de la section de foot qui avait valu au club ses titres de gloire et sa l\u00e9gende intacte sur laquelle nous reviendrons prochainement.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
