(Cr\u00e9dit : Si\u00e8cle&nbsp;Productions \/&nbsp;France T\u00e9l\u00e9visions)<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"article-content\">\n<div class=\"the-content\">\n<p>On connaissait davantage Daniel Cohn-Bendit, ancien d\u00e9put\u00e9 europ\u00e9en et responsable du Parti \u00e9cologiste, pour sa verve et son opini\u00e2tret\u00e9 politique que pour ses projets cin\u00e9matographiques.<\/p>\n<p>Dans son nouveau documentaire, \u00ab&nbsp;La case du si\u00e8cle \u2013 Nous sommes tous Juifs allemands&nbsp;\u00bb, le militant historique franco-allemand est parti en Isra\u00ebl, \u00e0 la rencontre de la population, en qu\u00eate d\u2019une r\u00e9ponse \u00e0 ses interrogations sur le juda\u00efsme et l\u2019identit\u00e9 juive.<\/p>\n<p>Diffus\u00e9 ce dimanche 7 juin \u00e0 23h, sur France 5, le film reprend pour titre un c\u00e9l\u00e8bre slogan de mai 68. \u00c9crite et narr\u00e9e par Cohn-Bendit et r\u00e9alis\u00e9e par son beau-fils, Niko Apel, l\u2019\u0153uvre aborde ainsi le rapport complexe du responsable politique avec ses origines.<\/p>\n<p>Le film d\u00e9marre par un entretien avec son fr\u00e8re ain\u00e9, Gabriel, longtemps engag\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019extr\u00eame gauche, ancien trotskiste, qui, par universalisme, rejette lui cette identit\u00e9 juive.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-caption size-fullscreen alignright\" id=\"attachment_1192013\">\n<div class=\"wp-caption-text\">Daniel Cohn-Bendit \u00e0 Tel Aviv, dans le documentaire \u00ab&nbsp;La case du si\u00e8cle \u2013 Nous sommes tous Juifs allemands&nbsp;\u00bb. (Cr\u00e9dit : Si\u00e8cle&nbsp;Productions \/&nbsp;France T\u00e9l\u00e9visions)<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u00c0 l\u2019oppos\u00e9e, dans une s\u00e9quence suivante, la figure de mai 68 rencontre une habitante sioniste religieuse vivant dans une implantation isra\u00e9lienne, au discours diam\u00e9tralement oppos\u00e9 \u00e0 celui de Gabriel Cohn-Bendit. Elle tire ainsi son essence m\u00eame de la religion et de la Torah.<\/p>\n<p>Ces visions, illustrant la complexit\u00e9 de la question de la jud\u00e9\u00eft\u00e9, Daniel Cohn-Bendit, plus pragmatique et r\u00e9aliste, les rejette, ne s\u2019y reconnait pas. Au fond de lui-m\u00eame, contrairement \u00e0 son fr\u00e8re, lui se sent Juif, malgr\u00e9 son manque de religiosit\u00e9 et son rejet du sionisme.<\/p>\n<p>Outre ces deux personnages, il rencontre \u00e9galement des <em>kibboutnikim<\/em>, des jeunes orthodoxes, une femme rabbin du mouvement lib\u00e9ral, des r\u00e9fugi\u00e9s non-Juifs, une chanteuse militante du mouvement de la paix ou encore une r\u00e9dactrice en chef d\u2019un magazine de mode pour femmes religieuses. Cette derni\u00e8re repoche d\u2019ailleurs au responsable de s\u2019\u00eatre lui-m\u00eame \u00ab&nbsp;excommuni\u00e9&nbsp;\u00bb, en ne se mariant pas avec une Juive. \u00ab&nbsp;Tu t\u2019es coup\u00e9 du juda\u00efsme&nbsp;\u00bb, lui lance-t-elle.<\/p>\n<p>N\u00e9 en 1945 de parents ashk\u00e9nazes d\u2019extr\u00eame gauche, originaires d\u2019Allemagne, alors qu\u2019ils vivaient cach\u00e9s en France, Cohn-Bendit renoue dans son \u0153uvre avec son histoire \u00e0 laquelle, \u00e0 maintenant 75 ans, il comprend ne pouvoir se soustraire.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab&nbsp;Quand ai-je commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 m\u2019occuper s\u00e9rieusement de mon identit\u00e9 juive&nbsp;? Au moment o\u00f9, en 68, on me traitait si spectaculairement de \u2018Juif allemand\u2019&nbsp;?&nbsp;\u00bb, s\u2019interroge \u00ab&nbsp;Dany le Rouge&nbsp;\u00bb. \u00ab&nbsp;En v\u00e9rit\u00e9, ce n\u2019est que tard, m\u00eame tr\u00e8s tard, \u00e0 60&nbsp;ans, que j\u2019ai accept\u00e9 de relever ce d\u00e9fi-l\u00e0. Avant cela, mon identit\u00e9 juive \u00e9tait une \u2018\u00e9vidence non r\u00e9fl\u00e9chie\u2019&nbsp;; un peu dans l\u2019id\u00e9e de ce que disait Sartre&nbsp;: c\u2019est l\u2019antis\u00e9mitisme qui fa\u00e7onne les Juifs. Donc je serai Juif tant qu\u2019il y aura des antis\u00e9mites&nbsp;! Une sorte de r\u00e9flexe, en quelque sorte. Car je n\u2019ai jamais fait partie d\u2019une communaut\u00e9 juive organis\u00e9e, je ne vais pas \u00e0 la synagogue, et ma femme n\u2019est pas Juive. Ce sont surtout les conversations avec Ingrid, mon \u00e9pouse allemande, qui m\u2019ont amen\u00e9 \u00e0 me pencher davantage sur mon identit\u00e9 juive et \u00e0 assumer&nbsp;: oui, je suis Juif et ma jud\u00e9it\u00e9 me fa\u00e7onne&nbsp;! Mais, pendant longtemps, je ne savais pas exactement ce que cela voulait dire. C\u2019est pourquoi j\u2019ai fait ce voyage, ce film, entrepris cette qu\u00eate d\u2019une identit\u00e9 complexe, parfois introuvable.&nbsp;\u00bb<\/p>\n<p>En 1993, deux ans apr\u00e8s une autre \u0153uvre, \u00ab&nbsp;C\u2019est la vie&nbsp;\u00bb, Daniel Cohn-Bendit avait sorti le documentaire \u00ab&nbsp;Juden in Frankfurt&nbsp;\u00bb, sur la vie des Juifs de Francfort. Il a \u00e9galement co-r\u00e9alis\u00e9 \u00ab&nbsp;La Travers\u00e9e&nbsp;\u00bb (2018), dans lequel il est parti \u00e0 la rencontre des Fran\u00e7ais. En 1970, il a co-\u00e9crit avec Jean-Luc Godard le film \u00ab&nbsp;Le Vent d\u2019est&nbsp;\u00bb.
