En allant \u00e0 la rencontre de soi-m\u00eame pour tenter de comprendre sa part de jud\u00e9it\u00e9, l’auteur nous pr\u00e9sente ce qu’il faut savoir du juda\u00efsme, en \u00e9clairant cette religion du Livre. Il interpelle ainsi les textes sacr\u00e9s, la Bible h\u00e9bra\u00efque (Ancien Testament), les quatre Evangiles du Nouveau Testament ainsi que les sourates du Coran. La pr\u00e9face de Pascal Bruckner livre quant \u00e0 elle des cl\u00e9s pour comprendre la d\u00e9marche de l’auteur.<\/p>\n

L’AUTEUR :<\/strong><\/p>\n

Max Memmi est n\u00e9 dans le petit port de La Goulette, \u00e0 quelques kilom\u00e8tres de Tunis mais aussi de Carthage et de Salammb\u00f4, au sein d\u2019une famille tunisienne, entre un p\u00e8re laborieux, artisan bourrelier-sellier, lettr\u00e9 et pieu, mais taciturne, et une m\u00e8re qui ne sait ni lire ni \u00e9crire, mais ensorceleuse par sa bont\u00e9 et son imagination. Il est le plus jeune d\u2019une importante fratrie de quatre s\u0153urs et trois fr\u00e8res dont l\u2019ain\u00e9, Albert Memmi, auteur d\u2019une \u0153uvre importante et r\u00e9put\u00e9e, lui transmettra, d\u00e8s son plus jeune \u00e2ge, son go\u00fbt pour la litt\u00e9rature et sa passion pour l\u2019\u00e9criture. Il ne le quittera plus.<\/p>\n

Il abandonne sa terre natale, o\u00f9 ses anc\u00eatres s\u2019\u00e9taient install\u00e9s depuis la nuit des temps, quand il comprend que, d\u00e9sormais, il n\u2019y a pas de place pour lui. Ce d\u00e9racinement laissera des traces profondes en son \u00eatre, m\u00eame s\u2019il ne transpara\u00eet pas dans ses livres.<\/p>\n

Scolarit\u00e9 au coll\u00e8ge Alaoui et au lyc\u00e9e Carnot de Tunis, puis diverses \u00e9tudes sup\u00e9rieures \u00e0 Paris : facult\u00e9 de Droit et des Sciences \u00e9conomiques, Institut d\u2019enseignement sup\u00e9rieur de la banque, \u00c9cole sup\u00e9rieure du commerce ext\u00e9rieur, Institut d\u2019\u00e9tudes juridiques et technique appliqu\u00e9es \u00e0 la construction et \u00e0 l\u2019habitation, \u00c9cole des arts et m\u00e9tiers, toujours dans le souci d’accompagner sa carri\u00e8re professionnelle.<\/p>\n

Directeur d\u2019un d\u00e9partement bancaire, professeur de droit immobilier, conseiller technique en commerce ext\u00e9rieur, directeur administratif et financier, audit financier et Pr\u00e9sident-directeur g\u00e9n\u00e9ral d\u2019une holding financi\u00e8re.<\/p>\n

Depuis qu\u2019il a quitt\u00e9 toutes ces fonctions, Max Memmi partage son temps entre une vie citoyenne active et l\u2019\u00e9criture ; il est ainsi l\u2019auteur de trois romans : Marguerite ou la mort de l\u2019homme publi\u00e9 par Les lettres Libres (Paris), Les chemins crois\u00e9s du corps et de l\u2019esprit, publi\u00e9 par Amalth\u00e9e (Nantes) et Les femmes de Jean, publi\u00e9 en d\u00e9cembre 2015 par les \u00e9ditions Orizons (Paris). Il figure dans Anthologie, un recueil de nouvelles et de po\u00e9sies. Il a donn\u00e9 La France en partage, un ouvrage r\u00e9solument optimiste publi\u00e9 par L\u2019Harmattan, en mars 2015, vite \u00e9puis\u00e9 et retir\u00e9 le mois suivant.<\/p>\n

Max Memmi poursuit avec ce 9e ouvrage un vrai travail d’essayiste mais aussi de romancier puis \u00ab\u00a0On n’est pas s\u00e9rieux quand on a dix-sept ans\u00a0\u00bb, \u00e9dit\u00e9 par Orizons, sort prochainement.<\/em><\/p>\n
