Appr\u00e9ci\u00e9 de tous, aim\u00e9 et respect\u00e9, cet homme de 91 ans fleure bon la tradition.<\/div>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>N\u00e9 en 1927, il continue chaque jour \u00e0 se rendre au fameux Caf\u00e9 Haouas qui se trouve en plein centre de la ville de la Marsa et n\u2019est s\u00e9par\u00e9 du Saf Saf que par la placette ombrag\u00e9e peupl\u00e9e de visiteurs.<\/div>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>Ce Caf\u00e9 Haouas a des origines lointaines. En 1901, il portait le nom \u00ab Grand Caf\u00e9 de France \u00bb mais l\u2019enseigne changera pour devenir un grand magasin beylical puis un d\u00e9p\u00f4t de grossiste.<br \/>\nApr\u00e8s la guerre, en 1943, le Caf\u00e9 Haouas verra le jour sous la f\u00e9rule de Azzouz Haouas, le p\u00e8re respect\u00e9. Puis ce sera au tour de Othman Haouas de prendre la rel\u00e8ve et maintenir une tradition qui se confond avec la m\u00e9moire de la Marsa.<\/div>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>Cet homme n\u00e9 est d\u2019une impressionnante vitalit\u00e9. Il n\u2019h\u00e9site pas \u00e0 monter sur une chaise pour vous montrer un tableau de plus pr\u00e8s ou bien pour d\u00e9signer un d\u00e9cret beylical expos\u00e9 sur une \u00e9tag\u00e8re parmi les portraits des beys qui ont r\u00e9gn\u00e9 sur la R\u00e9gence de Tunis.<br \/>\nOthman Haouas devient in\u00e9puisable lorsqu\u2019il \u00e9voque son grand-p\u00e8re dont il a re\u00e7u le pr\u00e9nom en h\u00e9ritage. Et ce d\u00e9cret beylical qu\u2019il me montre est celui qui nommait son a\u00efeul responsable des portes de la ville de Tunis.<\/div>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>En effet, du temps de Sadok Bey, Othman Haouas avait cette charge qui consistait \u00e0 veiller sur les portes de la ville et les maintenir ferm\u00e9es et prot\u00e9g\u00e9es.<\/div>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>Avec les corps de spahis et des zaptiers \u00e0 ses ordres, Othman Haouas \u00e9tait surnomm\u00e9 Bey Ellil par le petit peuple. Son petit-fils en tire \u00e0 ce jour une fiert\u00e9 l\u00e9gitime et sait vous raconter par le d\u00e9tail chacune des portes de la ville.<\/div>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>Tout aussi in\u00e9puisable lorsqu\u2019il s\u2019agit de la Marsa, ce v\u00e9ritable tr\u00e9sor humain conna\u00eet son histoire beylicale sur le bout des doigts et, le verbe haut, reconstruit devant vous les palais d\u2019hier et raconte les notables de la couronne.<\/div>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>Othman Haouas est de nos jours le \u00ab mokadem \u00bb des Aissaouias de la Marsa. Entre recueillement et chants liturgiques, il r\u00e9unit les adeptes de la confr\u00e9rie tous les dimanches jusqu\u2019\u00e0 la nuit tomb\u00e9e pour \u00e9voquer la m\u00e9moire des saints dans la zaouia des Chorfas, non loin de Sidi Abdelaziz.<\/div>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>Cela pourrait surprendre mais le mystique d\u2019aujourd\u2019hui dont le portrait en costume rituel tr\u00f4ne dans la grande salle du caf\u00e9, fut aussi un redoutable footballeur du temps du Club Athl\u00e9tique de la Marsa, une association ant\u00e9rieure \u00e0 l\u2019actuel Avenir sportif.<\/div>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>Demi-droit d\u00e9fensif, il portait la casaque rouge et noire du CAM et se souvient des exploits de l\u2019\u00e9quipe et de sa formation m\u00e9tiss\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019image de la Tunisie de l\u2019\u00e9poque.<br \/>\nEcouter parler Othman Haouas dans la grande salle du caf\u00e9, admirer les vieilles photos de la Marsa et remonter la g\u00e9n\u00e9alogie des beys est un v\u00e9ritable d\u00e9lice.<\/div>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>D\u00e9licat et \u00e9loquent, Othman Haouas a le sens de l\u2019accueil et une m\u00e9moire d\u2019\u00e9l\u00e9phant.
