Cette lettre, l\u2019Histoire lui a donn\u00e9 le nom de \u00ab\u00a0D\u00e9claration Balfour\u00a0\u00bb. On y lit ceci : \u00ab\u00a0Le gouvernement de Sa Majest\u00e9 envisage favorablement l&rsquo;\u00e9tablissement en Palestine d&rsquo;un foyer national pour le peuple juif.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>C&rsquo;est le feu vert pour la constitution d&rsquo;un Etat juif. Ou quasiment\u2026 Notez toutefois qu\u2019il n\u2019est pas fait mention d\u2019Etat mais de \u00ab\u00a0foyer national\u00a0\u00bb. Chaque mot est important, chez les diplomates. Mais en effet, c\u2019est une premi\u00e8re \u00e9tape vers l\u2019Etat d\u2019Isra\u00ebl. Vous avez not\u00e9 la date : 1917 \u2013 on est en peine Premi\u00e8re Guerre mondiale, et la v\u00e9rit\u00e9, c\u2019est que les Alli\u00e9s cherchent le soutien des communaut\u00e9s juives de Grande-Bretagne et surtout d\u2019Am\u00e9rique.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Cette D\u00e9claration ne pla\u00eet pas \u00e0 tout le monde. Et d\u2019autant moins que les Britanniques sont par ailleurs engag\u00e9s aupr\u00e8s de nationalistes arabes qui, eux, veulent constituer en Palestine un Etat arabe ind\u00e9pendant.
