- TRUE AND CRAZY STORIES

Nar el aita fi Rades(THE DAY OF THE HUGE SCREAM IN RADES)      : Once upon a time, in the pretty suburb of Rades, not far from Tunis, lived a very famous masseuse. All women of the village adored her and it wasn't a week when any of them would miss her visit to the hammam(public baths). The masseuse fame quickly extended to all the villages around and soon enough, even very poor women would borrow money in order to be able to afford her services. Conversations were full of praises for the enormous talents of their masseuse and men were happy that their wives would find so much joy into such a non-threatening activity.

And everything went well in the sunny suburb of Rades until that awful day when the masseuse, now 60 years old, died during her sleep. All men and women, old and young alike, rushed to pay their respect to the deceased and many volunteered to wash her body for the burial. But there, as shocking as it may sound, it was revealed that the masseuse was in fact.........................a man!!! After the initial moment of shock, followed by a brief investigation by the concerned authorities, it was confirmed that the masseuse was undoubtedly a man.  The extraordinary news went around the village at phenomenal speed. Men screamed their pain to have been utterly cheated and beat their wives who were inconsolable to have lost their precious access to lust.  And as you can imagine, that day, while the soul of the defunct was ascending to paradise(or hell), a huge scream covered the otherwise quiet suburb of Rades!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The expression "Nar el aita fi Rades" is still used nowadays to designate a well concealed secret which is finally uncovered.
