Greetings,
My name is Pieter Habibuw. I live in the USA. I am searching for existing records of Portuguese Sephardic Jews that were living in the Spice Islands. About 2000 Portuguese Sephardic Jews lived on the Islands in the years of approximately 1512 to February 1605. Some of them lived in Kota (City) Ambon. That was noted in the first website shown below. The Spice Islands are now part of Indonesia.

The next website posted by Attal, Robert & Avivi, Joseph showed a list of names of Sephardic Jews. For example: Freoa, Funaro, Gabai, Gabay, Gabison, Gandus, Garci, Garsin, Garson, Ghalula, Ghanem, Ghozlan, Gidilia, Gimsi, Gonzales, Grego, Guedalia, Guetta, Guez, Guiguiati, Guttieres, Hababou, Habib, Hacohen, Haddad, Hadida.
I am searching for existing records of Sephardic Jews with names Hababou and Habib who resided in the Spice Islands at the fore mentioned period. Sometimes people changed their names to become more assimilated into the country they moved to.
Thank you for your assistance.
